Authentication

Sesame Link has no account of its own. You sign in with your Sesame account on your computers, in the web client, and in the Sesame app, and everything signed in with the same account sees the same computers and sessions.

If you don’t have a Sesame account yet, register at app.sesame.com/login.

Run sesame-link auth login, sign in with your Sesame account in the browser, and enter the code your terminal shows. This adds the computer to your account and saves your login on it. Run sesame-link auth status to see who is signed in.

On a computer without a browser, such as one you reach over SSH, open the sign-in link that auth login prints on any other device.

Some account actions, such as adding or removing a computer, may open your browser to confirm your sign-in first.

Choose Sign in with Sesame and use the same account. The browser you use during sesame-link auth login is signed in for you. A browser stays signed in until you sign out, or until it goes 60 days without use.

Your Sesame agent uses the account you are signed in to in the Sesame app, so there is no code to enter. See Sesame agent.

Terminal window
sesame-link auth logout

This stops Sesame Link, removes the computer from your account, and signs out its saved login. Your sessions and files stay on the computer. Signing out of a browser, by contrast, affects only that browser.

To switch Sesame accounts on a computer, sign out, then sign in with the other account. Sessions don’t move between accounts.
