Commands

Run sesame-link on its own to see whether this computer is signed in and connected, and what to run next. Run sesame-link --help for every command, or sesame-link <command> --help for one command’s options.

  • sesame-link auth login: sign in and add this computer to your Sesame account.
  • sesame-link auth status: show who is signed in and where the login is saved.
  • sesame-link auth logout: remove this computer from your account and revoke its login.
  • sesame-link setup: configure this computer’s Sesame Link integration and offer to install the /open-sesame command, without signing in.
  • sesame-link start [--open-terminal APP]: start Sesame Link in the background. --open-terminal picks where sessions you start from your phone or browser open on this computer: herdr, off for nowhere, or, on macOS only, ghostty, iterm, or terminal. The default, auto, uses Herdr when it’s open. Otherwise it uses Ghostty or Terminal on macOS, and your desktop’s terminal on Linux.
  • sesame-link stop: stop Sesame Link.
  • sesame-link restart [--restart-codex]: restart Sesame Link with the options it was started with. Codex restarts too when it runs an earlier Sesame Link build or a Codex release other than the one installed, and none of its sessions is busy; otherwise restart asks first. --restart-codex always restarts Codex without asking, ending any Codex turns in progress.
  • sesame-link status: check this computer’s connection, whether Sesame Link is running, and whether a newer release is out.
  • sesame-link logs [--follow]: print the end of Sesame Link’s log, or keep printing it as Sesame Link writes.
  • sesame-link update: show the latest release, install it after asking, and offer to restart Sesame Link.
  • sesame-link uninstall: stop Sesame Link and Codex, remove this computer from your account, and remove this executable.
  • sesame-link sessions: list sessions and attach this terminal to one.
  • sesame-link sessions attach <id-or-name>: attach this terminal to a session.
  • sesame-link sessions create [directory]: create a session. Claude Code is the default; use --runtime codex for Codex or --runtime pi for Pi.
  • sesame-link sessions delete <id-or-name>: end a session. Claude Code and Pi keep the conversation; a Codex conversation is permanently deleted.
  • sesame-link claude [claude args] [-- prompt]: start Claude Code in this folder and attach to it. Text after -- is sent as the first message.
  • sesame-link codex [prompt]: (preview) start Codex in this folder and attach to it once it has a first message.
  • sesame-link pi [--provider PROVIDER] [--model MODEL] [--thinking LEVEL]: (best-effort preview) start Pi in this folder and attach to its terminal.
  • sesame-link install-claude-command: install Claude Code’s /open-sesame command, which moves your current conversation into Sesame Link.
  • sesame-link machine revoke <machine_id>: remove a computer you no longer have.
  • sesame-link doctor: find and repair setup and configuration problems.
  • sesame-link diagnostics: write one archive of logs, status, and session state to send to Sesame support.

Leave out on or off to see a setting’s current value. sesame-link config on its own lists them all.

  • sesame-link config claude-mod [on|off]: send messages from your phone or browser to new Claude Code sessions through a Claude Code mod instead of typing them into the terminal. Needs Claude Code 2.1.293 or later. Off by default.
  • sesame-link config error-reporting [on|off]: send crash and error reports. On by default.
  • sesame-link config remote-update [on|off]: let browsers you sign in with update Sesame Link on this computer.
  • sesame-link config thinking [on|off]: include the model’s thinking in session histories. On by default.
